For someone that is passionate about the professional audio revolution, this looks to be an amazing insight into sound, without presumptions and traditional barriers.

Great job on bringing this to the forefront.

I am looking forward to this

I am looking forward to this DVD as well. I saw it advertised several months ago in a music magazine and have been looking forward to the release.

Any thoughts on what the purchase price is going to be?

Please keep in touch as you get closer to the release date.

Audio Engineering Diploma

I am studying my Audio Engineering Diploma at the SAE Institute Glasgow and I am hoping to be doing my degree next year. I am absolutely loving every minute of it and I wish I had taken it up years ago! Honestly I have never felt happier in my life doing it! I am really looking forward to obtaining a copy of these DVD's as I know they will help me when I come to exams & stuff! If Anyone has information on these DVD's I would appreciate knowing the release date! Cherry

Pricing Ahoy!

We will be posting full details first week of December on all the available formats. We hope everyone will be very pleasantly surprised when they see the range of options on offer. You'll be able to purchase individual sections, package deals, the full collection etc so there should be something here for everyone. Sorry we have not been able to complete this before Thanksgiving here in US but our plates are full - and not just with Turkey.

We'll be back!

Release dates

As just posted above, full pricing and release dates are going to be published first week of December. Yes, we've been careful to produce this series so that it fits in with, as opposed to competes with, courses like SAE. We're good friends with the SAE teams and we hope Alan will be able to do some more special clinics at SAE locations as he did earlier this year. As I'm sure you're finding, it's never too late to acquire new skills. Best of luck.

DVD v Download

Will there be a significant difference in quality on the DVD compared to the download. Shipping to the UK is quite expensive and I would rather avoid this if I am getting the same quality.

Thanks

DVD Vs Download

Obviously DVD has its own compression and size but really the quality should be very comparable with the downloads. DVD Vs streaming is more complex because stream quality will depend upon your connection but downloads Vs DVD will be very similar.

Pre-ordering the DVD will get you download access to all the sections anyway. So, you can then either choose 'not' to have the DVD I guess, or simply have it shipped slowest route possible and then at least you'll have a nice backup.

I sure intend ordering the

I sure intend ordering the DVD's.. I just bought & downloaded the 6 movies currently online to see how they go and they are fabulous.
OK... when I order the the DVD set I will have to get them shipped to New Zealand and yep the TV Format (NTSC format supplied (I assume) rather than PAL (used here in NZ & Australia etc.)) might be annoying but luckily here most players are able to handle both formats automatically. Damn shame the computer DVD players never do!!! Hmm of course people are now buying BlueRay players so that adds confusion to the mix.. [ ;-) - pun intended] but at least they are more or less backward compatible.

Anyway.. I will buy the DVD's but probably download them as they become available..
The DVD's will be almost like a collectors set... And the download what I will watch on my MAC computer..

Hi from western Canada. Back

Hi from western Canada.

Back when Mr. Parsons (hello Alan!) was being his busiest I was running a small 16 track studio in Toronto Canada. I felt blessed to have a couple ALESIS compressors and a YAMAHA rackmount reverb or two! And having 16 tracks - I felt like a KING! Then I took a couple decades off to focus on my other love, photography, and just recently purchased Apple's LOGIC 9 (which I used to run in a very different form on my Atari ST! :P). Yikes! I'm hooked back into my music again. Writing songs, working at recording other bands now. The ILLNESS IS BACK!

I say all this as a (long) pre-amble to saying how excited I am about this series. Alan's work in the 80's and beyond was greatly inspiring to me. And to get some incite and wisdom from him now is fantastic. I look forward to checking back when the DVD's are ready to ship! Best of luck with this series.

Cheers for now,
S. Reinier deSmit
