I assume the studio in most of these videos is Keyfax's and not Alans'. Is this actually the equipment (Yamaha 01v,outboard gear, etc) that Alan uses now in his studio or is it "product placement" for the videos? And if so, what is Alan using these days?
The equipment shown in the sections currently posted is housed at the Keyfax studios, yes, and mostly belongs to KF. Other sections of the series were shot at Alan's studio in Santa Barbara where you obviously get to see more of what he is using personally. We felt it was a good idea to mix 'n' match throughout the series so that you get to see a range of equipment; not just what Alan happens to be using right now. We also worked in four or five other studios, all of which have their own rigs. These range from major locations such as Record One and Ocean Way to regular project and even personal studios. Alan will be doing some forum events shortly and it's probably best to let specific Qs be A'd by the man himself.
