Hi -

I'm interested in this product; but to be honest I find the entire ad campaign, web site and product description utterly confusing.

I'd be grateful for you to completely simplify on one web page -

- what precisely you are selling
- what it costs

For example

- are you selling one DVD or three?
- if 3, do these ultimately cost $99.99? How much is one?

- can all three DVD's be downloaded for $19.99?

- Are they available now or in 'early 2010'

Please clarify up the overly complicated web site and sales strategy, I'm genuinely confused and don't have the time to wade through your 'too clever' web site.

Eagerly awaiting clarity on what you are selling, what formats are available, how much it all costs and when it's available.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Confusion and solutions (hopefully)

Hello,

Sorry this seems confusing. We are still in our initial phase of release so we are constantly adjusting the language to make sure it makes sense to everyone, of course.

To answer your questions, specifically:

Q. What are we selling and how much does it cost?

A. A video series from Alan Parsons on Sound Recording, comprising 24 sections. Ultimately these will be on a 3-DVD boxed set. Currently, we are offering 6 of those 24 sections for download or streaming. Each individual section costs $.99 to stream or $4.99 to download. You may purchase all 6 'currently available' sections in a '6-pack' for $19.99 (saving $10.00). You may also make an advance purchase of the DVD right now for $99.99 (saving you $50). If you choose this option, you can also download all sections as they become available. When the physical DVD is released early 2010 this will automatically be sent to you.

Q. Are we selling one DVD or three?

A. It is boxed set containing 3 DVDs. The list price is $149.99 and the special pre-order price is $99.00 We are not selling them as individual DVDs. Those who want individual sections can of course just purchase them individually.

Q. Can all 3 DVDs be downloaded for $19.99?

A. No. $19.99 is the '6-pack' price for those wishing to save money downloading all 6 currently available sections.

Q. Are they available now or early 2010?

A. Six sections are available now. These are the only ones you can view and preview on the Video Browser. If you go to About The Project you can read about the other sections are coming down the road. Early in 2010 ALL the sections will be available, both individually, and on the physical DVD.

Many people have contacted us wishing to purchase sections on-line. This system lets people access currently available material on-line and save money pre-ordering the DVD boxed set, if they know this is what they'd like.

We hope this now makes sense but please let us know if we can present this in a way that is simpler, for sure.

Appreciate your taking time to post.

So, as I'm understanding

So, as I'm understanding this, when the other 18 sections are available for download they will also be $4.99 each, or 6-pack priced at $19.99? With 24 sections total, that would be 4x$19.99 to download all 24. Will there be any further discount on purchasing all 24 downloads or will that still be about $80?

And the section downloads have the exact same video content as the DVD, or are there bonuses on the DVDs?

thanks,
Michael

Julian Colbeck ?

Is this Julian Colbeck who wrote the Keyfax series of books ? Great to see you producing excellent material again ;-) I still have all the Keyfax books and refer to them regularly. I have already signed up for this series and wish you and Alan great success !

Understanding

Yes you are correct. The total 24-section price in 'pack' form will come out to about $80. The packs may not all be in sixes but the pricing will always be pro rata up or down. We don't have any plans right now for a lesser cost "24-pack" discount, no. Once all of the sections are available on-line we may package them up a little differently to make the groupings more logical, and more like the running order on the DVD.

The content is the same online / DVD yes. DVDs normally have some form of bonus materials (in the same way that there are bonus free videos here on the site). We do, after all, have some intriguing footage of Alan in the shower, when we recorded a segment on the merits of singing in the shower :)
