Although we have only 'soft launched' the site last night we've been amazed at how many people have found it 'open' and have already made purchases.
We hope you're enjoying the material.
But we're not seeing too many of you "taking the quiz" yet. The questions are not that easy, so maybe everyone is being cautious and viewing sections enough times to get a good score?
Keep us posted if you have questions about this, though. It's a great way to reinforce your knowledge.

Well, that's the question, is it possible to take the quiz more then once? If not, then I wiil go through the video's more often to know all the answers before doin the quiz!
Just downloaded the movies so still have to look!

You can only Take The Quiz once, yes. You can view the questions anytime, and once you've taken it you can view your own answers if you want to make sure you 'know' the right answers. So yes, absolutely, take time to get to know the section well enough to get a good score.

I found in the MIDI QUIZ there is one question that the video gives no answer to... the question about the Madonna song. Probably this is edited out after they made the questions, or I have not listened wel enough the 2 times I watched the video. I did not hear it!

now i have to watch the video again.
I thought i knew this answer from a old keyboard magazine article with Patrick Leonard interviewed i think, or was it Electronic Musician?

if i bought the dvd set with all the downloads.
i watch and answered quizzes.
i got over 30 points after a few videos.
i got an email saying i have a free download/streaming of a video due to me.
?What would that be that I didn't already buy???
The only content up is the 6 video pak for download and free content.
So what am I missing here? ok that's actually 2 questions.

I agree with you Nick. There is no mention of Patrick Leonard or the Madonna song anywhere in the video. I have watched the video umpteen times, even my manager has watched it too & he can't find it! See the post I have created under the Midi section of this forum & this will explain my opinions on this matter!

The second series of videos are being uploaded as I speak. The process is sequential - we want to make each available as soon as it comes off the (mastering) press - so new sections will continue to appear over the next couple of days.We will be posting full instructions for this release over the weekend but essentially those who have pre-ordered - or who can download a free section through quiz points - should be able to do so simply by logging into their accounts. We don't anticipate any problems of course but should any occur rest assured we will be working on fixing them live and in real time.
Honestly you'll get much better results from an outboard gate. Cubase does have internal gates, as does ProTools, but you'll get a much more organic and true sound if you use outboard gear like Drawmer. Of course, this costs money so if you are just looking for easy recording with what you have I would recommend ProTools over Cubase but it honestly comes down to user preference.

I purchased the downloads along with the DVDs. If I watch a DVD, where do I go to take the quiz?
Under "My Purchases" there is a link to each session. The "Take the Quiz" icon is located at the bottom of each lesson.

When I took the Mixing quiz, questions 1 & 2 were repeated as questions 8 and 9. But when the results were displayed, questions 1 and 2 were different.
Hi, Julian:
Perhaps the question has come up before, but - have you ever thought of giving out certificates of completion to those who purchase the course and pass the quizzes? This may be a way to boost student participation and potential DVD purchases.
All the best,
