As we were launching the first on-line section of this series yesterday we got news that Harrow, Alan and his wife Lisa's much-loved and characterful dog, finally lost his battle with Lymphoma.

The size of a Shetland pony, Harrow very much ruled the Parsons' roost, and his distinctive baritone barks invaded many a voice-over session for this series, slicing through the studio door like artillery fire.

Harrow of course invaded this site too, and you can see pictures of this lovable hound in the media pages.

Although the editors may have cursed you occasionally, all of us here at Keyfax will truly miss you, Harrow. Rest In Peace.

I'm sure all here will want to pass on our best to Alan and Lisa on this both happy and sad day.

Congratulations and condolences

Please pass on my best wishes and condolences to Alan and Lisa. As a dog owner I can understand the sense of loss, as a beloved pet can become a member of an extended family.

Best wishes to Alan and to all involved with Art and Science of Sound Recording - it is so encouraging to me to see more masters of sound sharing their knowledge and experience these days. Especially as digital distribution of music, lossy compression codecs, and the 'loudness war' are in danger of seriously eroding the quality of consumer audio and consumers' expectations - at least as far as music recording and distribution is concerned. Any project and/or dissemination of knowledge and information that helps to raise the bar again is to be applauded, I feel.

Many thanks and regards,
Jonathan Steyn

I'm really sorry

As a dog owner too, I can understand the sad feelings of Alan and his wife. I love my dog like a son...

Amazing videos and very useful information, by the way...

or on a website designed for

or on a website designed for the purpose. While it would seem that using unconnected and unnumbered packets without mcse acknowledgment and retransmission on a shared and sometimes congested channel would result in poor reliability due to a packet being lost, this is not the case due to the fact that the packets redhat dumps are transmitted (broadcast) to everyone, and multiplied many times over by each digipeater. This means that all digipeaters and stations in range get a copy, and then proceed sas certification to broadcast it to all other digipeaters and stations within their range. The end result is that packets are multiplied more than they are lost. Therefore, packets can sometimes be heard some distance from the originating station. Packets can be digipeated tens of kilometers hp0-m16 exam dumps or even hundreds of kilometers depending on the height and range of the digipeaters in the area.

Yes, I lost my beloved Great

Yes, I lost my beloved Great Dane to Lymphoma as well. My heart goes out to Alan and his family. Losing Max was one of the saddest moments in my life.
