Perhaps it's the European TV System, I'm not sure, but watching the DVDs on a 40" HD TV the quality of the Videos are rather poor - jagged edges, poor definition and jitters especially on motion pans etc.
On the other hand, on my PC and Laptop the quality is excellent. I imagine most will watch these on a PC or mac in their studio so not especially tragic.

Another thing, I remember mentioning that I'd hoped would be addressed before the release, was a general normalizing i.e. leveling of the audio tracks (mastering if you will). I just watched the Internet Recording section and the narration by Mr. Thornton is extremely loud compared to the sections spoken By Allan - to the point that one has to adjust the volume. Pity this. Again this problem seems to be worse on the TV and negligible on the PC.

I'm not trying to complain here, I just thought you should know - constructive critisism and all that.

By the way, the last quiz question in the Internet quiz wrongly specifies Sinatra's producer as Phil Manzanera, whereas in the Video Phil Ramone is clearly referred to - oh well so I got 9 out 10.
The quality of the material however is excellent, and well presented.

Hello B. Harrison,

Just an F.Y.I. on my viewing experience.

I have been viewing the DVD's on a Sony 40" 1080i HD TV. The quality of the DVD's have been superb for me. I don't know if location comes into play, but I'm located in the Eastern US (Region 1 for DVD's).

Europe is region 2, however I don't think that is the problem as the DVDs are most certainly Code 0 = Region Free.
Most likely the problem is due to the different scan rates and/or interlacing methodologies used between NTSC and PAL.
