The EQ quiz question on the Pultec EQP1-A says that "None of the above" is the correct answer.

However documentation for the Pultec EQP1-A repeatedly says that it is passive:
"The Enhanced Pultec Equalizer utilizes the original WESTERN ELECTRIC passive-equalization
circuit"
"First - the EQ is passive. That means that the components involved have no gain."

EQ quiz

I got caught on that one also, but the text at the bottom of the video indicates that the EQP1-A has a gain stage prior to the EQ stage. Presumably that's the "A" in the model number?

The EQ itself may be passive circuitry, but the addition of the gain stage makes the "unit" active.

Disclaimer: I have no personal direct experience with this unit, so my interpretation above is certainly not authoritative in any way ... But I hope it helps clarify the issue.
