Alan, I just mixed this song directly to a pair of used Auratone speakers, placing them in the nearfield position (not at the back of the room facing away as the video suggests).

The speakers are about 10 years old, but they seem solid and responsive, and so far the mix seems (to me) better than when I mixed directly to my Genelec nearfields (won't burden you with that mix here).
Alan, if you've the time to have a listen, what is your opinion of the overall mix?
Keep in mind my home studio also does double duty as my listening theater.
For simple stereo reproduction, I LOVE these speakers. Yeah, they are getting a bit long in the tooth, but I do love the sound.
Hi,
What do you think the BM6 in the mixing pop-rock ?
I have a smal control room (3x3).
when working on the mix and use as a monitor BM6 is known that sound very soft and mellow, in fact I find it difficult when I have do to sound much more aggressive, and plays on other monitorsfor to verify. Can you suggest something to improve this deficiency with BM6?
What do you think the SoundSticks III by Harman Kardon?
for me are very good for sound quality and price.
Mr. Parsons, Its a pleasure to see you here. Thanks for your time. What is your practice regarding using multiple sets of montors in the studio? As a home studio owner, I don't have room for a set of "bigs" so I use a set of Mackie 824s, a set of NS10s and a set of small computer speakers. I use 824s for tracking and then bounce between the 3 for mixing. How many sets of monitors do you recommend having in a decent home studio and how do you use them for different tasks?
Thanks, Al
Hi guys, I've been using the Even Opals for 10 months now and have been blow away with them, the studio EQ kit arrived the other day and in my treated control room I got a near as perfect response from the software, I was a bit shocked!
I just wondered if anyone else is using them out there? Quite a few people don't seem to like the mid on them on other forums but personally I don't see where there coming from. I've always been into my Hi-Fi and have a rather tasty set-up there, if a little dated now but I trust that from a commercial listening side.
hi - in the mix part 2 segment jack douglas stated that his final mix is performed through a bose wave radio
i like this idea - is anyone else doing this, if so - what's your workflow and how is it working for you
Hello Alan,
I love the monitoring section. While I am going to upgrade my Mackie HR824, I start seaching on 805 Diamond. My main purpose for the monitors is mixing. Do you think 805 Diamond is serious enough for a world class mix? Does it need to be used together with B&W's sub woofer? Some forum discussing B&W are for mastering only. What would you think? I have listen both 804 and 805 diamond in a local shop. To me, 804's bass is much better than 805. If for mixing purpose, which model you would suggest?
Stan
Hi
Have you noticed a large amount of distortion on AP and other vocals on this release together with little in the way of EQ'ing the interviews which sound a little bland in comparison to other parts.
Was this hastily done to complete in time or purely something that needed additional attention but AP was not available to tweak.
Either way, the content is good but the sound is poor.
sorry
