Are you streaming or is this on a download? We don't see any problems at this end but we'll keep checking. Although our streaming server should automatically be tailoring delivery to your connection speed, if your access is occasionally unstable that could affect things. If you are experiencing any issues from a download then that's definitely not right. Please either reply here or contact us at info@artandscienceofsound.com and we'll try to get to the bottom of this. Although the gates scene does initially have Alan's voice 'gate effected' for a second or two this is, ahem, our attempt at humor. We assume this is not the problem you refer to but just checking.

It should also be noted that, for the Streaming scenes, the default quality setting is HD. If you are on a slower connection, roll over the video to bring up the control panel, then click the quality setting to the right of the volume control.

I have the problem with downloaded noise gate video. I am not refering the Alan's gating in the beginning. The program is breaking in many places over the tutorial, almost all the time when Cubase snapshots in the screen. Audio/video not in sync, you can hardly understand the text in many places.
Sometimes that happens also on other videos, mostly just some flashes on screen, no audio problems. Again, mostly when Cubase snapshots on the screen. Should we report that to Steinberg? :)

Hmm, that sounds odd. Even more so if this only happens during Cubase moments! If these moments are consistent then they sound like corruptions in the file, in which case we will send you new links. If they are not consistent, then this may be down to your computer's capacity to play the video files smoothly. Let us know, again, either here or via info@artandscienceofsound.com.
Apologies in advance if this an issue of the file, though, as we said earlier, we are still not aware of problems other than this.

5 of the 6 video's I have downloaded are quite OK, but the GATES video is really corrupted. The sound is not in sync with what I see on the screen and the video freezes every now and then. I tried to update my QuickTime Player but that did not give any better result.
Some of the other video had just a little of this problem but the NOISE GATE video is impossible to playback.
Keyfax, please create a better version!!!

Audio and video out of sync, dropouts of audio or even no audio at all !
I´ve tried many mediaplayers (microsoft, vlc, quicktime, mediaplayer classic etc.)

So please fix that video !

We are working hard to solve this. We have checked our source files and these seem to be fine so it may be that some files were corrupted on delivery. We'll of course make sure anyone experiencing a problem receives a new file as soon as we've finished testing. We want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again, obviously, so please bear with us a few hours more.

My desktop is Intel i7/920 2.67GHz with 3GB and Laptop is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz with 2GB. Both show the same problems. Do you recommend me to update the hardware?
My video cards are not top notch (as that is recommendation for audio processing setups), but, I have never experienced any problems watching video, whether they have been downloads or DVDs.
The other episodes are more or less ok with rare flashes, but it is almost impossible to follow the noise gates.

Ditto on the problems here. Sync and audio break-up. I am glad to hear that the source files are fine or this might have been a case of "physician heal thyself" ya know? ;-)

No problem... this stuff happens. Look forward to notification of the fix being available when you get it figured out.

Update on this rather odd issue: Signs are pointing to settings on the audio codec on this channel on our streaming server. Sometimes the section plays fine, sometimes not, but we will have everything solid by tomorrow and will notify all affected.

Again, many apologies for this irksome hiccup.

Hi.
Just a short comment on the downloaded version of the "Noise Gate" Video.
I had no problems with the quality of this video, make sure you have updated your codecs on your PC.
I Burnt the video to dvd using convertXtoDVD as well without any problems, so I can watch it on my large screen TV.

Mr Parsons, when I saw the ad for this in a music magazine, it was an immediate must-buy for me. Your albums and songs were core influences on my musical education, and are still among my top favorites 30 years on. Thank you deeply for this project, and wishing you and yours all the best!

Yeah, I was streaming it as well. It was skipping for me a little bit. I finally realized that I had it set to HD, so I just lowered the quality. It still runs a little slow to me, but it works out much better than before!
